For the first time since the Ribbon Cutting of the state-of-the-art terminal in February, the Minot International Airport will have a new director.
Today, City Manager, Lee Staab announced to City Council and the Citizens of Minot that Rick Feltner has accepted the director position.
Feltner will assume the role on May 23rd. Allowing a crossover period with acting Interim Director, Ann Throvik. Thorvik has been acting director since March 1st.
Rick Feltner, from Lakeville, Minnesota, was most recently the Deputy Executive Director of Terminal One at the John F Kennedy International Airport in Jamaica, New York from June 2014 to March 2016.
He was also the Corporate Director of Airport Services for Delta Air Lines in Minneapolis, MN. Interim Director, Ann Thorvik, who was apart of the search committee said of the hire “ We weren’t just looking for the right candidate, we were looking for the right candidate for Minot. I think we did just that.”
City Manager Lee Staab will publicly introduce Rick Feltner at the monthly Airport Committee Meeting on May 31st. Thorvik will help in the transition until her final day in June. Thorvik was brought on by MOT to assist in the construction and planning of the new terminal which was just dedicated last week.
