LOCATION: 710 14th St. W. (Maverick Casino)
According to Shane Winden of the Billings Police Department, on 4/4/16 at 22:52 hrs, Billings Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a robbery at the Maverick Casino located at 710 14th St W.
Two unidentified males entered the small casino which was occupied by one employee and four customers. One of the suspects remained near the front of the casino as a look-out while the other suspect approached the employee and brandished a handgun.
While the second suspect collect cash from the register, the first suspect robbed a female customer of the cash that was in her purse. Both males then fled out of the business in an unknown direction. The males appeared to be white or Hispanic and were wearing gray hooded sweatshirts with bandannas tied around their faces.
Both appeared to be in their 20’s and had average builds (5’10”-6’0”). Only one of the suspects appeared armed and no one was injured during the robbery. The incident is still under investigation.
The Maverick Casino does not have video cameras that record, so Billings Police have gone to nearby businesses to see if their security cameras caught a glimpse of the tow armed robbers. According to Police records, the Maverick Casino has been robbed in the past, in 2013 they were robbed on at least two different occasions and then in 2012 they were robbed once. This latest incident now is the fourth time that the Maverick Casino has been robbed.
